DACO produces a wide variety of shims, spacers, and plates made per customer print. We can produce Shims in many forms such as: Round Shims, Die Punch Shims, Horse Shoe Shims, Notched or Tabbed Shims, Slotted Shims (with or without tabs) and even Shim Disks. We produce fasteners, shims or spacers in any one of these materials but not limited to these Metal types: Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Stainless, etc. Shims can also be heat treat hardened and used as wear plates etc., plated, or painted. Custom Made Stamping / Value Added Operations
Custom Made Stampings: DACO's production department run's many custom made stampings and larger parts (up to 5/16" thick) for a variety of different customers and markets including, (farm implement, lawn & garden, commercial, industrial, military, and others), these parts are made to the customers specifications and part prints, many of these parts are blanked, formed, and sometimes require secondary operations and light assemblies which can all be done (in-house) by DACO. Value Added Operations: DACO performs all types of secondary and value added operations on all different types of materials including steel, non-ferrous metals, and plastics (bending, punching, machining, thread tapping, spot welding, riveting, blind and threaded inserts, sorting, de-burring, light assemblies, bagging and special packaging including customer supplied components that might also be needed. Laser Cut Parts, Secondary Forming, Bending, Punching, CNC and Secondary Machining, Riveting, Spot Welding, Threading, Parts can be made complete with Blind and Threaded inserts including other special components or assemblies, Cleaning and De-burring, light assemblies, and in process or final packaging. We work with a variety of quality ISO approved suppliers for many other Outside Services, including, Zinc Plating, Painting, Heat Treating, Grinding, and many other services, we can also offer and provide our customers with completed parts or assemblies if needed. If it's a Custom Made Stamping or a Value Added Operation , provide your product design to our engineering department thru the use of the "RFI" Request for Information selection button. Progressive Dies / Tooling
Progressive Die Stamping is the process to modifying the raw material through a series of punch press cycles and the re-positioning of the raw material. You may see one or multiple processes combined to produce a finished part such as; Punching, Bending, Coining and Drawing or Tapping of the raw material. These processes; when performed in multiple operations or cycles of the press will produce a finished part through the progressive die/tool, saving you’re the expense of set-up time, and reduces the overall labor and production costs. Here at DACO Precision-Tool it’s our goal to design and build our progressive dies to exceed 100 strokes per minute to support high volume production. We can achieve this by building in sensors and other accessories to protect the die from damage. Cycle time is always kept in mind when designing and building our progressive die tooling. Parts are produced when the feed system pushes (strip or bulk coils) of raw material into the feed port of the progressive die tool; at each stroke or cycle of the press until the finished part is produced out the other end of the tooling. The feed rate of the material is controlled by the hard stops in each die section and the sensors built into the tooling. The final die section regardless of the number of tool/die sections required to produce a finished part; performs the cut-off operation. This separates the finished part from the carrying web; allowing the finished part to falls into the parts collection bin. The carrying web and material removed during the prior stages are conveyed to the scrap shoot and dropped into the scrap collection system.
